A number of our clients work in the Financial Services sector, where the products and services that they supply are often, to the uninitiated, incredibly complex. Being able to comprehensively explain the benefits in an easily digestible format can be the difference in making a sale.
This can take the form of an infographic but in some cases, an animated version that walks the viewer through the entire story in a way that is relatable to them is essential. This project required us to storyboard, design, create elements for and ultimately animate an explainer video that covered international payments between buyers and sellers.
The starting point was a long technical description of the current process, followed by a simpler, static PowerPoint file walking us through the new process. After much head scratching, we drew up a storyboard that represented the style and frames of the final video.
Using Deutsche Bank’s brand as a starting point we leveraged our ability to translate complex narratives in to compelling stories. The storyboard showed the life of an order, delivery, from one country to another and then the trail of the resultant payment and all of the additional charges at each point. The second half was built around the cloud-based solution, simplifying the payment’s journey, increasing transparency and reducing the now predictable charges.
The finished video was first displayed in Geneva on a giant video wall at Sibos, the Banking Industry’s biggest global event, on a stand that we had designed. It’s life was extended through hosting on their website, promotion via social media and the creation of static infographics for use in a vast array of other materials.
